Junkfunk is an independent design gift shop in the heart of Brighton’s North Laine. The shop started life as a stall in London’s Spitalfields market in 2003 selling its own-designed T-shirts, which are still available to buy in store and online. The T-shirts are the shop’s main product selling all over the world with one NO PASARÁN (They Shall not Pass) recently worn by ‘Pussy Riot’ Punk activist Nadezhda Tolokonnikova at her trial in a Moscow court room in 2012.
Alongside the Tees, there is an ecclectic mix of products from an exciting mix of designers and illustrators and makers. Prints by James Brown, cards by illustrators, Freya, 67Inc,Tom Frost and David Shrigley with stationery, books, dresses and homeware also.
The unpretentious and quirky nature of the shop appeals to Brighton’s creative community and is a great place to find something interesting at an affordable price. Open seven days a week, 10am-6pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday.
